Sharing memories of football in Port Hedland by Kevin Gardner
Hi Julie,
Thanks very much for covering the history of the Panthers. My brother Peter Gardiner played a couple of seasons with the Panthers in the early 70s during a trip around Australia before returning to Melbourne in 1974. Pete passed away in 2013 and often spoke fondly of Port Hedland and the Panthers. He made the DeGrey Football Association combined team during one season. I’ve attached the team photo, where Peter is at 2nd left in the back row.
Once again, thank you for your efforts in preserving and promoting football history – all the best.
Regards
Kevin Gardiner
